Date, start time, card, PPV price, and tickets for the 2022 heavyweight title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua

Published

on

Anthony Joshua is attempting to reclaim the heavyweight title. Oleksandr Usyk, a true warrior both inside and outside the ring, stands in his way.

The WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight titles will be on the line in a fight on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. Following an initial July booking, ESPN’s Mike Coppinger was the first to report the new date, and Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has now confirmed the fight in Jeddah.

Usyk made his professional debut in 2013 after winning gold at the 2012 Olympics. In 2016, the Ukrainian won the WBO cruiserweight title. He defeated Marco Huck and Mairis Briedis for the WBC cruiserweight title in the 2017-18 World Boxing Super Series tournament, and Murat Gassiev in the final for the WBA, IBF, and The Ring cruiserweight titles. His only undisputed title defence was a knockout victory over Tony Bellew in 2018.

In 2019, Usyk advanced to heavyweight. He defeated Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora before defeating Anthony Joshua by unanimous decision last September to become the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion.

Joshua made his professional debut in 2013, defeating Emanuele Leo by TKO. Joshua defeated Gary Cornish and Dillian Whyte to win the Commonwealth and British heavyweight titles in 2015. Joshua defeated Charles Martin, Dominic Breazeale, Eric Molina, Wladimir Klitschko, Carlos Takam, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin between 2016 and 2018. He defeated Martin for the IBF heavyweight championship, Klitschko for the WBA and IBO heavyweight championships, and Parker for the WBO heavyweight championship.

In one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, Andy Ruiz Jr. defeated Joshua for the entire gold medal in 2019. It was Joshua’s first fight in the United States, and he was knocked down four times before being stopped in the seventh round. In a rematch a few months later in Saudi Arabia, Joshua defeated Ruiz. Before his latest defeat, Joshua retained the titles against Kubrat Pulev in December 2020.

“Fighting championship level back to back has had its pros and cons, but I decide every day to get stronger, to learn from my experiences and grow,” Joshua stated in a release. “A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter and I am the happiest and most motivated I have been.

UFC legend Michael Bisping attacks Jake Paul and his desire to defeat Anderson Silva

Jake Paul is currently one of the celebrities who is the subject of the greatest controversy. A boxing bout between the former actor and Anderson Silva has been scheduled, but a former UFC legend believes the former actor does not deserve to win against the Brazilian fighter. Jake Paul has not yet found the defining moment that will catalyze the next stage of his boxing career. Now, he will square off against Anderson Silva, a veteran of the sport of mixed martial arts, but the matchup hasn’t won over everyone’s enthusiasm. A famous UFC fighter has shown that the actor does not deserve to win against the Brazilian fighter.

It is common knowledge that, in recent years, fights between famous people and actual boxers have become increasingly common. Jake Paul is really interested in turning his fighting career over to professionals by competing against opponents that are more skilled than he is. Recently, the former actor has stated that he is looking for a top competitor to engage in a fight with him. Jake Paul has stated that Canelo Alvarez is the fighter he wants to face after him, but in order to get there, he needs to win against Anderson Silva in October.

The fight between Jake Paul and Anderson Silva is scheduled to take place on October 29 in Arizona. The Brazilian will come out of retirement to compete professionally against the actor who used to have that title, but not everyone agrees that this is a smart move on his part.

“Jake Paul’s young. He’ll be afforded that luxury. He’ll be afforded that leeway to say, ‘You lost to a legend’. “If Silva loses to Jake Paul, I’ll be devastated because Jake Paul doesn’t deserve to have a victory over Anderson,” said Michael Bisping, UFC legend, on his YouTube channel.
