An explanation of the YouTubers’ Twitter feud between Jake Paul and KSI in advance of Paul’s PPV fight with Hasim Rahman Jr.

Published

on

Two of the most prominent former YouTube stars who are now boxers have carried on their Twitter argument. This time, they are discussing their impending boxing matches. Will their most recent quarrel move them one step closer to actually fighting one another?

On August 6 inside Madison Square Garden, Paul will square off against Hasim Rahman Jr. The main event of the show in New York costs $59.99 to watch on Showtime pay-per-view. Meanwhile. On August 27, KSI will square off against Alex Wassabi, another YouTuber, inside London’s O2 Arena. That will be a pay-per-view event on DAZN.

They seem to have intensified their recent Twitter feud about the relevance of the PPV pricing.

Why are KSI and Jake Paul arguing on Twitter?

Paul has taken to social media to solicit support for his impending bout by paying followers to retweet one of his posts. KSI referred to him as desperate and claimed that he had to pay to promote the battle. Paul mockingly congratulated KSI on winning the competition, and KSI responded by complaining that tickets for his show at MSG aren’t selling.

Paul, who has over 20.4 million YouTube subscribers, discussed how he made $45 million last year while KSI stayed with the platform. On his primary page, KSI has more than 15.6 million subscribers.

KSI accepted the bait and decided to respond, defending his position and reminding Jake of his origins.

“Na you still don’t get it. You didn’t care about the platform that made you who you are. Constantly denouncing it. I never did. I’m happy to say I’m a YouTuber to this day because now I can do/be whatever I want. I’m thinking long term my guy. You failed at this.”

Paul’s decision to reduce the number of YouTube subscribers ultimately enraged fans since they brought up earlier tweets in which Paul had mentioned YouTube subscriber numbers. Then, KSI mentioned all of the avenues that have helped him succeed while continuing to disparage Paul’s sales prowess. When Paul mentioned that KSI’s crew had contacted him to help advertise the fight, the situation worsened. He added that he counsels Wassabi.

KSI and Jake Paul are rivals

In 2018, KSI won his first bout as an amateur boxer by technical knockout over fellow YouTuber Joe Weller. He challenged Jake and his brother Logan to a fight after the match. Jake was supposed to take on KSI. After the callout, he eventually published disparaging tweets about KSI. Additionally, the two produced YouTube videos that each had millions of views. While KSI’s video calling out Paul has received over 2 million views, Jake’s video discussing KSI’s challenge to him has received over 5 million views.

Instead, Logan would engage in combat with KSI.

Before the amateur fight in 2018, KSI and his brother Deji made fun of the Paul brothers and vandalised their cars. Jake defeated Deji inside Manchester Arena, while KSI and Logan were decided by a majority vote. A short while later, Matchroom Boxing capitalised on the KSILogan Paul rivalry by having the two fight on the main card of a boxing event at the Staples Center. Paul would lose to KSI by a narrow margin.

Since then, both have taken independent paths. Paul has a perfect 5-0 professional record, having defeated Tyron Woodley, AnEson Gib, Nate Robinson, and Ben Askren. Given their past interactions, Jake was not pleased when KSI was meant to battle Austin McBroom.

“Lol. KSI immediately jumping at the opportunity to fight Austin. I guess “music tours” and “COVID” were only in the way of him fighting me.”

Hasim Rahman Jr. versus Jake Paul

Rahman takes on Paul in New York on August 6. Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1) made his professional debut in 2017 and is the son of the former lineal heavyweight champion. In 2021, he had three victories, including two knockouts. Rahman’s most recent contest ended in a TKO defeat against James McKenzie Morrison in April.

Alex Wassabi vs. KSI

UFC legend Michael Bisping attacks Jake Paul and his desire to defeat Anderson Silva

Jake Paul is currently one of the celebrities who is the subject of the greatest controversy. A boxing bout between the former actor and Anderson Silva has been scheduled, but a former UFC legend believes the former actor does not deserve to win against the Brazilian fighter. Jake Paul has not yet found the defining moment that will catalyze the next stage of his boxing career. Now, he will square off against Anderson Silva, a veteran of the sport of mixed martial arts, but the matchup hasn’t won over everyone’s enthusiasm. A famous UFC fighter has shown that the actor does not deserve to win against the Brazilian fighter.

It is common knowledge that, in recent years, fights between famous people and actual boxers have become increasingly common. Jake Paul is really interested in turning his fighting career over to professionals by competing against opponents that are more skilled than he is. Recently, the former actor has stated that he is looking for a top competitor to engage in a fight with him. Jake Paul has stated that Canelo Alvarez is the fighter he wants to face after him, but in order to get there, he needs to win against Anderson Silva in October.

The fight between Jake Paul and Anderson Silva is scheduled to take place on October 29 in Arizona. The Brazilian will come out of retirement to compete professionally against the actor who used to have that title, but not everyone agrees that this is a smart move on his part.

“Jake Paul’s young. He’ll be afforded that luxury. He’ll be afforded that leeway to say, ‘You lost to a legend’. “If Silva loses to Jake Paul, I’ll be devastated because Jake Paul doesn’t deserve to have a victory over Anderson,” said Michael Bisping, UFC legend, on his YouTube channel.
